Guard your heart and the interest of your heart.
People who have your best interest at heart are very rare to come by. You can usually tell who has your best interest at heart by what happens when they have the opportunity to take advantage of you. It’s kinda a no-brainer but we always get caught off guard by those who we think have our best interest at heart and they end up taking advantage of you.
This can destroy your family, business or ministry. Allowing the wrong people access to your heart is plain dangerous. Testing the motives of people is absolutely critical for success in any endeavor. You need people in your inner circle that have your best interest at heart. Having allowed dangerous people in the intimate areas of my life, I can tell you with all certainty MAKE SURE THESE PEOPLE ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT YOU and not what you can do for them.
Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23 NKJV
Our hearts are the only commodity that carry any weight with God. Why on earth would we trust such a precious thing to someone who isn’t trustworthy with it? Our hearts are like porcelain vases in which we don’t just hand over to a court jester to play with. As we trust our hearts with the ultimate handler, Jesus, He will see to it that it will be taken care of. He will bring the right people in our life that we can trust with our hearts but it’s up to us to use to discernment. Be wise with your heart.
