Over the next three weeks I’ll continue blogging about ALIGNMENT. Alignment is such an important topic. When things are aligned they just work better.
Your mind, will, emotions should be all lined up.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (III John 1:2 NKJV)
I posted a blog about our key to happiness a while back and it all has to do with our soul. In this post we will learn what it means to have our soul aligned. Our souls are our mind, will, and emotions. We are a trichotomy, meaning we are three in one. We are created in the likeness of God. God is three in one, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We are a spirit, have a soul, and live in a body. Even our souls are made up of three as well. Our mind, will, and emotions. The goal of soul alignment is to have our mind, will, and emotions lined up with what God’s best is for our lives.
Our Mind – After becoming a Christian, we are to to start a process of renewing our minds according to the word of God as instructed in Romans 12:2 and Ephesians 4:23. This is where our minds can become in alignment with God. What happens in our minds will happen in time. Our thoughts are the architects of our destiny. As we learn to tame our thoughts we will become aligned. So many people are in torment in their souls because of the thoughts that they allow in the their minds. It’s up to us to keep our thoughts on God. This is how we have alignment in our minds.
Our Will – This is where most of us have issues. At the core of us is ME… what I want, what I feel, what I think I need. Our will is what we want to do. The trick is to have our will be submitted to what God wants us to do. That word submission is key. God has a mission for our life so when we come under that mission it becomes the SUB-mission that He requires. Another thought is that would it be submission if it was easy? Typically when we submit to something it is when we put what we want to death in order to give life to what God wants for us. Overtime we submit, our joy is imminent because God knows what is best for us. He’s a good Father.
Our Emotions – Emotions are so fickle. They can trick us into making some really bad decision. Acting purely on emotion will get us into trouble in every situation. We must learn to live by the fruit of the Spirit, this is how we overcome emotion. Learning to live in love and joy will override angry, depression, and frustration. This is how we align our souls. When we experience negative emotions our best strategy is to practice patience (another fruit of the Spirit) and allow the emotion to pass before we react.
Having our souls healthy and aligned with the Lord is the key to happiness. This will help use stress free and experience life the way God intended.

Well spoken! Yip! That’s what I’ve always maintained: we have to want what He wants. That’s the secret of peace of mind. Peace is a rare commodity in this world.
